Bulgaria has left its mark even in distant Cuba with the Vasil Levski Factory for plasticware. It is located in Сienfuegos and it was built by Bulgarians. There are no special road signs to direct you there, however, it is important to know that within the factory territory stands the only monument in America of Vasil Levski – the Apostle of Bulgarian Liberty.

We tried to enter the factory a couple of times, but it was only when our friend from Cienfuegos helped us with his connections that we made it inside and saw the monument. In the factory, you can also see the Tree of Friendship, planted by the Bulgarians who built the factory. Read here more about the building of the Vasil Levski monument here.
