The El Cubano Natural Park in Trinidad, Cuba is located at the foot of the Escambray mountain. The park is in perfect condition and walking along the marked paths you may enjoy wonderful landscapes – small rivers, little bridges, and fish ponds… You will see various exotic animals, including Tocororo – the bird symbol of Cuba because of the blue, red, and white colours of its feathers that represent the Cuban flag. You will also get to encounter a colony of wild wasps – it is absolutely safe if you keep quiet and don’t disturb the insects for any reason. Along the way, you may also visit a farmhouse where you can have a cup of the local herbal tea. Near the farmhouse, there is a lot of fruit trees that are typical for Cuba such as guava, guanabana, and others. The most interesting spot is at the end of the 40-minute walk where you can swim in the pure tranquil waters of a natural pool and shower under a waterfall. For the braver ones I recommend swimming to an underground cave or jumping off the rocks into the tranquil waters. The El Nicho Waterfall is also located within the park and is a must!
