The El Nicho waterfalls offer the vividness of water cascades and clear lakes. They are located between Cienguegos и Trinidad in the second-highest mountain in Cuba Escambray in the Topes de Collantes National Park. Since 2017 we offer a special new attraction!!!
El Nicho is the perfect spot for swimming in clear tranquil waters. The National Park workers have built little bridges and a wonderful path around the waterfalls. What is more, the El Mammey river is always there to guarantee you some freshness even on the hottest days. I usually take my tourists there early in the morning so as to avoid crowds, savour the tranquility and take the perfect scenery shots of the Cuban tropical beauty. The wavy steep road that leads to El Nicho can be quite a hard task for some of you, but once you see the picturesque views that Escambray has to offer you will forget about all inconveniences. Don’t worry, you won’t have to walk much to reach El Nicho and the entrance fee is just 10 CUC. Read more about the currency in Cuba here. The right time to visit El Nicho is the period from November until April. The rest of the year is usually rainy, but even then the waterfalls are a magnetic view, just make sure you have your raincoat with you. Read here more about the weather in Cuba.
Another interesting spot in the Topes de Collantes National Park is the El Cubano Park. Find out more here.
